Paradise!

Yesterday was the first day in a while that I scrapped.  And I now remember again why I love it so much!  It is just soooo relaxing for me.  So my latest layout is titled Paradise.  This photo was taken during our Thailand holiday last year.  It so so beautiful and so relaxing.  It brings you so close to nature and appreciating all the beauty our world has to offer. Here I am at a lookout point, taking in some of this beauty and fresh air…..

 

I did this layout for a speed scrap hosted  LDrag Designs last night at Scrapmatters.  Had so much fun…..  I used Tropical Sunshine from LDrag designs & Siamese Studio to create this layout.

Bella, our Beagle pup has been part of our live's for almost 5 months.  And oh boy, did she find a very special part in our heart.  I love her to bits!!!  I didn't think it is possible to love a little doggie the way I love her, so this layout is all about her...

In the desert - ADSR5

I created this layout for ADSR5 challenge 11.  HERE is more information on the challenge.  It is about our times in the desert.  I love going to the desert.  Sometimes the camels come real close to us, and this was one of those moments.  I guess they see us as one of the locals to that spot LOL.  Wonder if they miss us now that we have a new desert spot...

The Men in my life.......

This is my entry for March 2010's Layer it up challenge @ Digiridoo.  Here is some more info on the challenge.
I decided to make a page about two very important men in my life.  This page is inspired by my Dad and my Hubby.  Both these men play a very important role in my life, and I love them both VERY much.   I am very lucky to have such good quality men in my life.  They are such, strong, reliable, loving and caring men.  I would like to thank them from the bottom of my heart for always being there for me, during good times and bad times.  Thank you for supporting me, motivating me and being someone I can look up to and depend on.  Someone whom I can ask for advise and trust.  Thank you for being who you are......  Thank you for loving me....

Someday!

We all have dreams, some big, some small and some huge!!!!!  Since I can remember I was dreaming about a farm in the winelands.  I was always having some kind of bussiness on it. But that's where I want to live.  Sometimes our dreams get stolen from us as we get older.  Mine were stolen for a while, until a dear friend reminded me that it is NEVER too late to dream and fullfill your dream.  Why do we the minute we become an adult think that this is it?  This is what my life will be.....  I want to remind you all that we should NEVER stop dreaming. I still have my dream, a little bit more structured now, still the farm, now a spa and guest house added to the mix, and a few outdoor activities.  The rest, well that's still in the developing stage....

So this page is done to remind me of my dream, a visible reminder.  It always makes it seem a bit more real...  This is also my entry for the ADSR 5 Challenge 8.  We were basically given the idea of someday, and you should complete the rest.  If you would like more info on this challenge, you can find it HERE.

New Month, New Challenges

Life' Sweet Symphony - Digiridoo Scraps

Everytime the awesome designers over @ Digiridoo Scraps bring out their monthly colab I think to myself:  "Gorgeous, surely it can't get better than this..."  And then a new month comes along & yet again I stand in awe!  This is a truely brilliant kit girls.  Thank you so much!!!!!

Then & Now

This is a layout I did for ADSR challenge 6.  We were asked to use one recent picture of ourselves and one older picture.  My older picture is a picture of me as a student at technicon.  While doning this I started to think about all that happened between the time these two pictures were taken.  Some planned things and a lot of unplanned things.  We never know exactly what road life is going to take us on next.  All we can do is do the best we can, and overcome obstacles as and when they come up.....

ADSR5 challenge 2!!

So challenge 2 was a bit more challenging, or shall we say it required my thinking cap.  It is hosted by The Digital Scrapbooking Artizan Guild.  Here's what we had to do:

Theme: 5 things i love about......

Title:  Use a combination of 5 fonts &/or alphas

Photos:  Use 5 photos - one of the photos must contain the letter 5.

Use 5 different elements of the same type eg. 5 different flowers/ribbons etc.

Season 2 taste.......

This is what I came up with:

I love going to the desert for so many different reasons.  It is my fix for the week, combining nature, action, socializing all in one.

Journalling Challenge

This month it is my first time hosting a challenge . I am hosting the February Journalling challenge over at Digiridoo.  This is the challenge:
Everyday each of our live's get touched by the people we interact with. Sometimes this is good and sometimes, well, not so good. It can be someone you bumped into in the mall, or meet at a birthday party. Someone saying something on TV, in an article or written in a book. Sometimes it's something they do to us, how they handle the cashier at the supermarket or mearly a comment they make.
This month I would like you to think about the people that truely touched your life, often times unknowingly......
Now, write a letter to this person expressing how they touched your life.

ADSR5 has started!!!!

I am very excited about this year's ADSR.  This is both myself and my partner Tine's first time participating in this challenge.  The first two challenges is out and already our thinking caps are on.  This is such a cool race to broaded your creativity boundaries.  I am looking forward to push the boundaries and grow as a scrapper. Our team name is DesertSnow, for I live in the desert, Dubai and Tine lives in the very snowy Norway!

For our first challenge we had to introduce our partner.  This was a bit challenging for us because we don't really know one another, but also great because it force you to get to know one another.

Chillaxing in the Desert

Over weekends we love to go to the desert.  Sometimes it is for camping, sometimes for a quad bike ride and sometimes for the men to play with their RC cars.  But most of all we go there to relax.  Away from the hussle & bussle of city life...  Complete quiteness.  And the weather is perfect now.

Well if you do not believe me, ask our dog Bella just how relaxing the desert can be....

Little Moments

The ocean, the beach, the waves..........

This is a great escape for me.  I can sit and watch the waves for hours.  It somehow calms me...  For me this is a place to think....  It reminds me of how the bigger picture and just how great God is.

I feel as though I can breath better while I watch the waves, the rhythmic sounds......  It helps me to see and focus on the true beauty in the world, oh how grateful I am that I have this escape.  I just have to use it more often....
